Eat Bitterness EB seal

Eat Bitterness.

We do the hard part.

Your business doesn't always need another employee. Sometimes it needs the right human at the right moment.

We provide trained sales and customer experience professionals who answer, follow up, sell, schedule, recover, retain, and represent your business when you need them.

—  Positioning

Technology connects systems. People connect people.

Automation has transformed business. We use it too.

But some conversations still deserve a human.

  • A homeowner considering a $30,000 project.
  • A prospect deciding between three estimates.
  • A longtime customer ready to cancel.
  • A lead who stopped answering six months ago.
  • A business owner whose salesperson unexpectedly quit.

Those moments require judgment, empathy, humor, persistence, timing, listening, and the ability to understand what isn't being said.

That's where we come in.

—  Sales Bench

Your salesperson quit Tuesday. Your leads didn't.

Eat Bitterness provides temporary and flexible sales capacity during:

  • Employee resignations
  • Terminations
  • PTO
  • Vacations
  • Maternity / paternity leave
  • Recruiting periods
  • Seasonal demand
  • Campaign launches
  • New market expansion
  • Unexpected lead surges

Businesses shouldn't have to choose between rushing a hiring decision and allowing revenue opportunities to disappear.

Plug our people in while you build yours.

Cover My Sales Gap

—  How it works

A disciplined four-step build

  1. 01

Tell us what's falling through the cracks

We learn your business, services, customers, sales process, service area, pricing rules, FAQs, scheduling requirements, escalation procedures, and brand voice.

  2. 02

    We build the playbook

A customized account knowledge base, scripts, objection handling, qualification criteria, CRM workflow, follow-up cadence, and escalation rules.

  3. 03

    Humans go to work

Our trained professionals begin representing your business across the approved channels and workflows.

  4. 04

    Measure everything

Conversations, contacts, appointments, opportunities, revenue recovery, retention, and other agreed KPIs.

—  Industries

If conversations create revenue, we can probably help.

The model travels well. Wherever a missed call, an unanswered estimate, or a quiet database costs money, trained humans can recover it. Initial focus examples:

  • Roofing
  • Pools
  • HVAC
  • Plumbing
  • Moving companies
  • Remodeling
  • Restoration
  • Landscaping
  • Pest control
  • Home services
  • Property services
  • Hospitality
  • Professional services
  • Other lead-driven businesses

—  Human + Technology

Human where it matters. Technology everywhere it helps.

We aren't fighting technology.

We use modern technology and AI to help with transcription, quality assurance, call summaries, CRM documentation, lead prioritization, analytics, reporting, and agent support.

That allows our people to spend more time doing what people do best:

Listening. Understanding. Connecting. Selling. Solving.

—  The name

Why would anyone name a company Eat Bitterness?

吃苦

chī kǔ

The name is inspired by the Chinese concept 吃苦 (chī kǔ). Its literal translation is "eat bitterness." It describes the willingness to endure difficulty and do the hard work necessary to accomplish something worthwhile.

That philosophy is exactly what we built this company to do.

  • Calling hundreds of dormant leads is hard.
  • Following up when nobody else wants to is hard.
  • Saving an angry customer is hard.
  • Building trust with a stranger is hard.
  • Hearing "no" repeatedly and making the next call anyway is hard.

We eat bitterness.
We do the hard part.

—  Engagements

Built around your volume, not a price list.

Every engagement is customized. Scope is shaped by:

  • Lead / call volume
  • Required coverage
  • Inbound vs outbound work
  • Complexity
  • Number of locations
  • Hours of operation
  • Campaign duration
  • Required integrations
  • Dedicated vs shared staffing

Monthly Capacity

Ongoing access to trained human sales and customer experience resources.

Dedicated Team

Dedicated human capacity for larger operations.

Revenue Recovery

Base engagement fee with optional performance compensation where appropriate and legally permissible.

Temporary Coverage

Short-term sales capacity for staffing gaps and seasonal demand.

Build My Plan

—  Built From Experience

We’ve been on the other side of the phone.

Eat Bitterness wasn’t built in a boardroom.

It was built from more than 20 years inside sales, operations, hospitality and customer experience. Managing teams. Growing revenue. Fixing broken processes. Following up when nobody else did. Having the uncomfortable conversation. Asking for the business. Saving the customer.

We’ve seen great businesses lose money for surprisingly simple reasons.

The phone rang.
Nobody answered.
The lead came in.
Nobody followed up.
The estimate went out.
Nobody asked again.
The customer was unhappy.
Nobody called.

None of those are marketing problems.

They’re human ones.

That’s where we come in.

—  The Hard Part

Good businesses don’t usually have a people problem.

They have a time problem.

Too many conversations.

Too many follow-ups.

Too many things that need one more call.

You don’t need another person sitting around waiting for work.

You need the right person when there’s work to be done.

—  The Receipts Are Coming

Client results will appear here when they’re real, measured and ours to share.

What's the hard part of your business? Give it to us.

Tell us what's falling through the cracks. We'll show you how trained humans can help.
